The benefits

A town that deserves to be known!

Weather

With over 2,500 hours of sunshine a year, Valencia enjoys a very pleasant Mediterranean climate. Winters are mild, with temperatures rarely below 10º, and summers are warm but pleasant thanks to the sea breeze. As for rainfall, Valencia is one of the least rainy cities in Spain!

A town on a human scale

Valencia has a population of almost 800,000 and ranks as Spain’s third-largest city in terms of population. Despite this, it remains a city on a human scale, far removed from Europe’s major metropolises and their attendant disadvantages. The beautiful Valencian city still has all the advantages of a big city, with its numerous infrastructures, growing economic activity and numerous leisure activities to offer its visitors.

Renowned gastronomy

A stay in Spain always rhymes with Paëlla, and Valencia is its birthplace, where you’ll find the original recipe based on chicken, rabbit and dried beans. Valencian gastronomy is not limited to paella, however, and the proximity of the « huerta » (which means « vegetable garden ») makes it easy to find fresh, quality produce for tasty local recipes. When it comes to drinks, the suchet-based horchata is THE refreshing local summer drink.

Designing outdoor spaces

In addition to its beaches, located just a few kilometers from the city center, Valencia boasts pleasant green spaces for strolling or playing sports. The Jardin de la Turia (former name of the Turia river) surrounds the city center and offers residents around 7 kilometers of green spaces and gardens, ideal for soaking up the sun and discovering another facet of the city.

Economic and cultural dynamism

Considered a city on the rise, Valencia has a strong economy (agriculture, tourism, metallurgy) and suitable infrastructure (Spain’s leading commercial port). The city also values its cultural aspect; it is widely known for its City of Arts and Sciences, an architectural complex built in 1998 that has given the city a new identity: futuristic and unconventional. Not to mention the highly popular Fallas: the most important festivities in the city, which take place throughout the month of March.

Types of activity

A little-known destination, and therefore less touristy, but one that has developed its infrastructure to host major events.
You want a city where you can combine fun/water activities with cultural discoveries.
With its Mediterranean climate, Valencia can be visited all year round (we recommend spring or autumn, as summers are very hot).
